...............makes me feel like a nomad now. but as they say, where is home to a restless heart? well, I'll guess this time around I have to face the reality that rizal will be my 2nd home, something that I never imagined before. All I know is that Rizal is a place sanctioned by mountains and that life here, despite its proximity in NCR is generally hard.
Maybe I have a lot of wrong impressions after all. And since I will be stuck here for quite sometime, I decided to explore this place more and expose its beauty. Let me start in Morong Rizal.......
Morong is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines with a population of 50,538. It borders the towns of Binangonan, Angono and Teresa. A popular attraction is Spanish-era St. Jerome's Parish Church.
It is a 17th-century church constructed wholly through donations by the town residents. It features the work of Chinese craftsmen and has a four-storey octagonal bell tower.
the intricate details are admirable....
what can I say, iconic.....
Since we were not able to go home for All Saints day November 1, we decided to try this place. Odd because we didn't see any candle vendors prevalent in most Philippine churches. So the plan of offering candles to our dead relatives failed. We just prayed inside.
there were no worshipers that time...
me and my favorite blue polo in the entrance...
talk about grand entrance.......
So if you are planning to pass by the area, be sure not to miss this church. A cultural icon indeed.
changes color in the afternoon sun......
By the way, thanks to Dong Ho since it was him who made me aware of the existence of this place....salamat for sparking my curiosity....
