"Open Nikon, Open Happiness". That has been my battlecry for the past ten months. That since I bought my Nikon dslr camera. It might sound like the tagline of a popular refreshment commercial but it's true, life has never been this fun for me.
Photography as a new found hobby opened a lot of opportunities. I am not just speaking of financial rewards here but so much more. The opportunity to reinvigorate my blogging, to add zest to my travels, to capture the beautiful places and be able to share them online, the chance to meet a lot of wonderful people and the joy of seeing life in a new perspective. All that, with my Nikon d3000 camera with 18-55mm VR lens .
the Nikon d3000 dslr with Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens
This year, my goal is to learn street photography and portraiture. Although the Nikkor18-55mm is no doubt an amazing kit lens, I know I need to buy new lenses appropriate for each field. So when I tweeted " I can't wait to try my 200mm 4-4.5G nikkor lens. Sa wakas.hahaha" , many reacted. At long last indeed. I was out with a few bloggers in Marikina this weekend and so far, I am very satisfied with its performance. I love the bokeh effect. I am also very happy that it's really sharp for a telephoto lens of this aperture. Good news for my street photography. My next goal would be a prime lens and I can't wait to get my hands on the Nikkor 50mm 1.4G.
my Nikkor 55-200mm AF-S VR lens
This is one of the reasons why I opted Nikon. Because of their superior lenses. Nikkor has always been synonymous to high quality lenses. Even other top camera brand uses Nikkor lenses over their camera bodies as a testament to the quality of the images it produces. The result of Nikon’s dedication to innovation and excellence in the manufacture of interchangeable camera lenses is the comprehensive assortment of NIKKOR optic---marvels of clarity, consistency, precision and reliability. That's 70 years of expertise and 200 types of specialized optical glasses to fit your needs.
But be careful. Make sure you buy lenses that are sold by authorized Columbia Digital Star Corporation (CDSC) dealers. There are a lot of lenses sold in the grey market and I don't personally recommend them. I am proud to say that I bought my Nikon dslr camera from an authorized CDSC dealer in SM-Manila and my 55-200mm telephoto lens as well. I am after the 2 year warranty which you can't find when you buy in the Grey Market.
There are many reasons why buying from a CDSC retailer is still the best choice http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4733 - Nikon VS Grey Market. For me, I simply put peace of mind on top of it all.

From the most basic normal lens to the wide angles and the telephoto lenses, you can pick from a variety of choices depending on your photographic needs. Avail of our 10 to 15% discount on your Nikkor lens of choice.A 15% discount on a CDSC Nikkor lens? Are you kidding me? That's awesome!!!!

ReplyDeleteI agree. Maganda talaga ang lens ng nikon. Very well made. Although, hindi ko pa nattry ang canon, lalo na yung L-series nila. I've tried a lot of lenses narin, zoom and primes. yung dream ko talaga 18-200VRII. Pero I always believe in the saying, it's not the pana, it's the indian. Kahit 200k pesos worth or lens pa. Kung hindi naman ginagamit to shoot. Sayang lang.
