HABITAT for HUMANITY : celebrity ambassadors and launch of i-build campaign

Celebrity Ambassadors, private, business, government and youth sector rise to the challenge towards social responsibility.

The Fashion Walk of Greenbelt 5 on March 12,2011 was the perfect place for the launch of Habitat for Humanity's massive social responsibility campaign dubbed "I Build, What Will You Build? ". With it is the presentation of Habitat's Celebrity Ambassadors in line with its upcoming silver anniversary on 2013.

Over the years, habitat has build over 32,000 homes for families in need in 22 provincess all over the Philippines. But since the country's housing needs are immense and continue to increase this year, Habitat Philippines aims to build 70,000 homes by 2015.

Currently, more than four million families or 20 million individuals are without a home. Habitat will  build house s for the following programs, disaster response and risk migration, urban renewal and development, peace build and housing for public servants.

AMBASSADORS for Habitat

Individuals and groups from different sectors have signed up to rally for habitat's vision of providing homes for Filipino families in need. Celebrity ambassadors have committed to become the voice for Habitats cause and to help inform the public about how they can help and make difference through Habitat. 

The following are the key personalities from the news and entertainment industry who have offered their support. Youth ambassadors Cris Villonco, and Matteo Guidicelli, Alexandria Eduque as well as prominent Media personalities Kim Atienza, Karen Davilla and Arnold Clavio. Cris Tiu and Derek Ramsay were not there during the event but they have sent their message as a sign of support.

Over 300 guests join the habitat in festivities. The QUEEN of TALK, Kris Aquino is this years Nation Builder Ambassador for Habitat and her presence that night made the crown really propped up.

Mr.Fernando Zobel de Ayala who is a member of Habitat's International Board of Trustee was also present during the event. Senator Chiz Escudero and VP Herbert Bautista of QC were also there.

Chaired by Fernando Zobel de Ayala, "I Build" is a four-year initiative of Habitat for Humanity Philippines that will celebrate 25 years of providing decent shelter for families in need. Habitat works with partners to provide holistic, transformational and sustainable solutions to uplift the lives of Filipino families. 

I Build embodies the substance and soul of Habitat. It mirrors its continued commitment to build much more than houses. It is a call to action for every sector of society to commit something that will create meaningful change to the country.
