As much as possible, I wanted to make the content of my blog original. That's why, when I started doing events, I resisted accepting press releases as much as possible coz I believe I need to experience things before I can share them to my readers.I wanted try it myself and believe in what I am writing about so that I can describe it from my point of view. But I realized I can''t be everywhere all the time. There were many big events that I missed simply because I still maintain a regular day job. Simply put, I am not omnipresent.
And So I started incorporating blog correspondents.Being a member of a club called Young Photographers Philippines (YOPHO) is such a blessing.I got to meet passionate photographers and hobbyists at that.Mel, Krizelle, Gio, Chris, Mike and Mark, they are part of the growing list of blog correspondents sharing their awesome skills in photography to pusangkalye.net
here's their work:
Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2012 (HAB) by ROCK GONZALES
This time around, I am taking things a step further. I decided to feature some hobbyist photographers and their sample work here at my blog. Any club is welcome. Will still be focusing on events of course which I think will interest my readers.Consider this a photographer's portfolio where they are given the chance to showcase their photography on my blog.It works both ways coz it will provide the content for my beloved readers. These events are not necessarily experienced by the featured photographers because of me extending them a media pass to represent me or what.It could be a personal trip or coverage just like my first featured photographer contributed---the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2012 (HAB) which took place February 9th thru 12th 2012 in Clark Field Pampanga.

The Philippine International Hot-Air Balloon Fiesta was first organized in 1994 in an effort to help spur the local economy of Central Luzon with the stated objective of making hot air ballooning a common aviation sport in the Philippines and promoting the country as a premier sport-aviation and tourist destination in Asia.
DIRECTIONS TO CLARK FREE PORT
Getting to the Clark Freeport Zone, otherwise known as the Clark Special Economic Zone by car is easy. Simply needs to take the North Luzon Expressway from Manila and exit at Dau, Mabalacat. After your exit, a left turn towards Angeles City, and a little Angeles City/Dau traffic, will bring you to within an easy right turn of the Clark Zone itself. The trip should take about an hour and a half from Manila without heavy traffic.
Be there early. And I mean verrrry early. Heard a buddy complained about the heavy traffic. They were in the area as early as 5am but they arrived in the location at 6:30 am. During that time, all the balloons already flew so they didn't see anything anymore. Imagine traveling from Manila and braving the congestion for nothing ayt?
I realized that I have become allergic to crowd so I have never experienced attending Philippine International Hot-Air Balloon Fiesta. Too bad. Hopefully, I could drag myself into the whole experience next year as it is really a good venue for practicing phtography. Tama ba Rock Gonzales? :D
By the way Rock, GREAT PHOTOS!!!!!
