Do’s and Don’t’s of EVENTS BLOGGING

Here is the summary of the talk I gave during the 1st BAGUIO BLOG CONFERENCE on May 19,2012 in the City of Pines Baguio. It was such an honor to be invited as a speaker in the event which could be the start of something BIG for blogging in Baguio and the Cordilleras as a whole.

It feels good knowing you are talking to young minds thirsty of learning a new skill. These are the faces of the future bloggers of the Cordilleras.I was part of history in the making.I hope I contributed something during my talk and I hope many were inspired to start blogging.

at the 1st BAGUIO BLOG CONFERENCE

MY INITIAL IMPRESSION OF EVENTS BLOGGING

“that giving in to EVENTS BLOGGING” is selling your principles”

MANILA BLOGGERS

A very diverse group (students, professionals, businessmen etc.)
Informal grouping (very independent bloggers)

WHY BLOG EVENTS

  • There is a very BIG demand.
  • It’s the trend (online advertising)
  • It’s here to stay

WHO CAN DO EVENTS BLOGGING
  • Check your blog stats (hits, page rank, unique visitors, loyal readers)
  • Relevant content (niche blogging)

DO’S

  1. Keep a good attendance/punctuality record
  2. Research the brand, the establishment before you say YES>
  3. Keep your cool (disagreements/arguments happen)
  4. Be ready to take criticism (try to extract the constructive part)
  5. Be ready to invest (time, money, effort)
  6. Dress to the occasion
  7. Build connections
  8. Blog for fun (nothing beats that)

DONT’S

  1. Don’t commit if you can’t (takaw tingin)
  2. Don’t gate crash events.
  3. Don’t be afraid to say NO.
  4. Don’t sell your principles.
  5. Don’t just go for the loot.
  6. Don’t let your credibility go down the drain.
  7. It’s not ALL ABOUT MONEY

  1. I like the last "It’s not ALL ABOUT MONEY"

May mga napapansin kasi akong pera-pera lang at harbat King and Queens kung tingnan...

ANyways, I still believe that REAL BLOGGERS stay because it's FUN not just because of those material things na nakukuha after ng events.

  2. i love going to blog events because it is the only time i get to really socialize and have a social life -seriously. im a mother of two and i focus my time, effort and attention more to them than engage myself in mindless chatters with the ever chismosang kapitbahayan. blog events opened my eyes and myself to "new horizons" i learned a lot about myself and about others, but i do love to have a checklist like what you highlighted here :p

  3. It’s not ALL ABOUT MONEY- tama.... though kailangan din ang kaching-kaching..... hindi naman yun ang mahalaga
