Thai-cast flew to Manila for the premier night : ATM opens in cinemas today!

When the country's largest media network ABS-CBN decided to show the Thai movie A CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE on Philippine television, the reception was extraordinary.Mario Maurer became an overnight sensation. And looks like there's no stopping the wave of Thai movies going mainstream as Star Cinema brings ATM in Philippine cinemas.

I was at the Red Carpet Premier of ATM last Sunday and I got to watch the movie first hand.I will be giving my verdict (movie review) on my next post.For now, here are the premier night photos of the movie with the main casts Chantavit Dhnasevi (Ter) and  Preechaya Pongthananikorn (Ice) flew all the way from Bangkok to join the press conference and sit with the eager fans in the premier night that ensued.

 We got the chance to throw questions at the Ter and Ice as well as the director.And even though they brought with them some interpreters, they all answered back in english which for me is a show of sincerity.And we saw how the three of them eagerly shared their views on the press and the screaming Pinoy movie fans.I have to admit I was starstruckk with Preechaya Pongthananikorn (Ice) she is gorgeous! Girls meanwhile definitely found another heartthrob to be kilig at in Chantavit Dhnasevi (Ter).They are such a darling.

I like it when the director said that one of the main strength of this movie would be "laughter'' as laughter has a universal appeal.True!We were laughing all throughout the movie during the premier night.

 

 

 Synopsis

Sua (Ter - Chantavit Dhnasevi) and Jib (Ice -- Preechaya Pongthananikorn) are like any other couple in this world except for one exception: for the past 5 years they have kept their relationship a secret since the bank where they are employed has a strict "No Fraternization" policy. It's not a big deal until they decide to get married. The only problem? Which one of these two Type-A overachievers will put marriage before a career and resign?

 

 

With neither willing to take the leap of faith they both turn incident into opportunity when an ATM glitch in Chonburi province cashes out over $130,000 baht. The terms are simple: whoever is able to recover the money first gets to keep their job. The couple will turn into no holds barred competitors. Who will literally "go big" in their career or "go home" in this romantic comedy about what two people won't do for each other in the name of love? It's the age old battle of the sexes but this time around how can victory be easily declared in a war where there are no more traditional "rules of engagement"

The cast and director later on sat with the Filipino moviegoers and watched the whole film.It was a feel good moment.(Movie review coming up) Oh, before I forget, Chantavit Dhanasevi (Ter),is the same actor who made everyone fall in love in the hit romantic comedy movie Hello Stranger.
