MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2012 Swimsuit Press Presentation

This is the beauty pageant which seeks to promote not just Filipina beauty but also “Beauty Tourism” within Asia and West Pacific.

Last July 18 saw the Press Presentation of the 30 lovely candidates at Midas Hotel Pasay in their swimsuit.To the delight of my correspondent,Chris Vallejera who snapped the following photos for us.He did a good job in taking photos of all thirty of them!

"The Organization is motivated and inspired by its guiding thrust to assist in promoting Tourism, Social Responsibility, Fashion, and Beauty pageantry — a combination which differentiates itself from other similar pageants. It engages in worthwhile endeavors that will enable itself to achieve and make a contribution to promote the Philippines as a major and revered tourism destination".

Special Awards were handed out this early in the competition with #16 Kaylee Calaguas (West Coast, USA) bringing home two, Mutya ng Lito Sy Photography 2012 (Most Photogenic) and Mutya ng Sheridan 2012.

Contestant #17 Mutya Johanna Datul (Isabela)on the other hand won the heart of the press and went home with the Mutya Press Favorite 2012,another significant award.This shows that the two are favorites at this stage of the competition and we can say that they already have a headstart.

But let us not underestimate the rest of the contestants though.Among the thirty beauties this year, nine are from Filipino communities abroad like Canada and USA.

The winners of the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant are sent to represent the country in international pageants like Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism Queen of the Year, and Miss Intercontinental, and the Miss Asia Pacific International.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas Grand Coronation night will; be held on August 12 at UP Theater.
