I always pass by Gerona Tarlac and I have noticed Isdaan a long time ago.But buses bound to Pangasinan don't stop over the area so I wasn't aware of what Isdaan was all about.I thought it was some sort of an amusement park since there are gigantic statues of animals on the entrance. That's until Thunderbird Resort took us on a tour of Poro Point last October 2011 and we stopped by for lunch.
That's when I learned of the restaurants concept.Floating Nipa huts dot the area. The water around these nipa huts are where they catch the fish you order,at least that's the idea.

They serve a variety of Filipino dishes and I can say that it's on the
top of my list if it is Filipino Cuisine that you are looking for---best
of all seafood.
The setting is perfect for a hearty meal.I noticed that it takes a while
for food to be served. It gave us the chance to go around and check the
giant statues,Monkeys,fish and even Buddha.
The place makes you feel like
being in a different place.Buddha statues after all are not common in
the Philippines. The monkey statues are also fun to look at. The place is famous for families and there are many kids running
around.It's a playground-amusement park-restaurant wrapped into
one.
There is also Tacsiyapo Wall for those who would like to vent their
anger and frustrations in life.
parang Thailand lang :)
BEAUTIFULLY THEMED PLACE
WHAT WE ATE
We ordered Sinigang na baboy, Pinaputok na Manok sa Dahon, Chopsuey, inihaw na pusit and pinaputok sa dahon (tilapia). The Pinaputok na Tilapia sa Dahon is a must try as well as the Pinaputok na Manok sa Dahon.Almost a year later and I still remember how tasty the food is at Isdaan Tarlac.
They have a lot to offer so I am sure you will find your favorite---- bangus, crabs, tahong, kuhol, pakbet, laing, tuna. You name it!You can even order 1-whole lechon if you want!

Performers go
around to serenade you. They sing with the accompaniment of
guitar.Perfect in the setting.Mapapa-indak and mai-inlove ka habang
kumakain.
You can give tip to them should you want to but not required.
I heard that Isdaan is owned and operated by the same group that runs Barrio Fiesta, Singing Cooks & Waiters, Atbp.
If you area heading North,I would suggest you resist the temptation of dropping by one of those fast food chains along the way.It could be a little far but its worth it.This is a good place for the family and especially if you have friends from other countries visiting the Philippines.I wished there's a branch closer in Manila and looks like that wish has been answered, heard there is already one in Laguna.
Sa Rizal naman please! :)
