How to Get to Bacolod from Iloilo via Ferry vice versa?
There are 3 companies operating from Bacolod to Iloilo:
1. WEESAM EXPRESS
2.ALESON SHIPPING LINES, INC.
3.SuperCat Fast Ferry Corporation (SFFC) --TO GO TRAVEL, formerly Supercat
Travel time is approximately 1 hour. The first two companies listed above use old boats so it takes around 15-20 minutes longer than TO GO TRAVELTo Go which uses modern fast crafts.
RETURN RICKETS
I was tempted to purchase return tickets via WEESAM EXPRESS.One way ride normally costs 330 pesos while return ticket is 570 pesos on Weesam.I thought purchasing a return ticket would guarantee an easy ride on my way back.I was wrong. If it was a normal day,it would gone my way.But it was the final week of Masskara Festival 2012 and buying a return ticked proved to be more costly on my part.I left my hotel in Bacolod at around 7:45am and was at the Bacolod Ferry Terminal at 8am ready for the 8:30pm trip.I was disappointed to learn that the 8:30 ferry was already full. The next available ride would be 9:50am and my flight out of Iloilo would be 12:30pm.
I had no choice but not to use my return ticket and purchase a ticket at TO GO shipping line. That's another 370pesos.The return ticket from the other shipping line is non-refundable but I heard it's valid within 1 year.I might still be able to use it in the future then.Who knows.
LESSON: A return ticket doesn't guarantee you sure seats. You have to be at the port early and stay in line just like 1st time ticket buyers.

PS:There is No single terminal in both Bacolod and Iloilo ports. You have to check each of the three ferry operators for schedule on separate terminals.I know right, quite inconvenient.Hope they would come up with a single terminal in the future.
