The six hour bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh was really tiring but we didn't want to waste time since we have only one night to spend in Cambodia's capital so even if it was already a bit late, we immediately went out to hunt for a good restaurant after a quick check in at our accommodation. Gladly, our tuktuk driver was reliable. He suggested to us a good restaurant by the riverside avenue . With Katsu, my Japanese seatmate at the bus and new travel buddy joined us.
The restaurant is SINH FOO RESTAURANT which is below a guesthouse with the same name.

Tom Yam Hot Pot (seafood) --$7
Streamed Fish with Lemon --- $8
Please don't ask me about the ingredients coz I don't really know. What I am certain is that I was the one who placed orders for Steamed Fish with Lemon and Tom Yam Hot Pot and I was really satisfied for their taste. If I were a dog that time, I would be wagging my tail the whole dinner time.
I was very satisfied with the Tom Yam,although I have tried Tom Yam in Siem Reap and Bangkok, this one was the best I had to date. And the Steamed fish with lemon was awesomeness. The fish was really tender and fresh tasting. They do catch good fish in Mekong river or wherever it was from.
Amok Fish (In Coconut) --$4
Grill Salmon Steak --$8.50
Khmer Kor Koo Soup --$4
Deep Fried Spring Roll--$2.50
(2) Angkor Beer --$5
Fresh Coconut --$2
Mango Juice --$2
(2) fresh lemon juice ---$3
Small water ---$0.60
TOTAL --$46.60 / 6 = $7.77 per pax
with Katsu from Japan
One warning. You have to like 'basil leaves' or at least try to make an effort coz food in this region are full of basil leaves. My wife has issues with basis so she didn't get to enjoy most of the dishes---sad.
It was a nice dinner.Eating together with friends in this kind of setting-----outdoor,late at night, near the river, laid back feel of the city.Really nice. Also very thankful to Katsu for bringing a bottle of suju which he said is an expensive brand.Really taste more superior than the ones you can buy in convenience stores. It complimented the large Angkor beer we bought for $2.5.What a night! So lovin Phnom Penh!
