We went to Pattaya with the hope of seeing thr Elephant Village and Floating Market. Our friend Ghema has been routing to ride an elephant while some of us would like to experience buying stuff from a floating market. Thanks to 2 hours waiting for our van service + 1 hour traffic jam on the way to the terminal in Bangkok, it was already lunchtime when we got to Pattaya. The easiest option therefore was to go to one of the islands ----Koh Larn ---- and try the beach.
The drop off point for vans is the same terminal for ferries leading to the many islands in Pattaya.Tours are well organized and we realized that they are not the expensive so we tried it out.
We managed to have lunch first before boarding. There many restaurants only a few meters (Along International Meeting Street) from the port and it was in Food Fair Seafood Market where we landed.
It is a big restaurant with a lot of fresh seafood on display so it was really tempting. Also, it allows for a seaside view so we opted for it.Unfortunately, the food is forgettable.Yeah, not one of what we ordered satisfied my taste buds.So so taste.Lamang tiyan lang talaga.
As I said, food is forgettable although prices are reasonable. The only thing I remember is that we ordered
Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce --190 Baht
Spicy Seafood Pepper Curry --130 Baht
That's all to say.
So why waste a blog post on an anonymous restaurant with forgettable food? Well, I just emphasize that we did try to eat. One can buy food in the islands (in our case Koh Larn) but at more expensive price of course.
I am sure there are good food finds along International Meeting Street.Unfortunate for us, we ended in the wrong place. We did have our fill though.Dropped by a 7/11 store and we were off to Koh Larn.
The verdict on our first beach experience in Thailand coming next!
