Hotels in Metro Manila can always claim they are "family friendly" but if one says "your child eats free if accompanied by adults", that for me translates to taking the meaning of "family friendly" to a different level. HOLIDAY INN &SUITES Makati is exactly that.It is not just kids friendly, it truly is family friendly.
I together with our adopted daughter Angel finally did it again in a perfect place.Holiday Inn got it right when it opened a new location right at the heart of the country's largest central business which is also undoubtedly the shopping capital of the Philippines.
The lobby is not the usual ground floor lobby that you can find in the Metro.Level one is where the concerge is but to check in, you have to go straight to the 4th floor where you feel more exclusivity.I remember having a student who works in Park Hyatt Seoul.She mentioned that there are two Hyatt Hotels in the city with the other one being Grand Hyatt.Asked what is the difference, she said that Grand Hyatt is better and more high end.I quipped, "why" and she said because the lobby is not on the ground floor.That spells the difference she said because it means Grand Hyatt is more exclusive.I together with our adopted daughter Angel finally did it again in a perfect place.Holiday Inn got it right when it opened a new location right at the heart of the country's largest central business which is also undoubtedly the shopping capital of the Philippines.

That's what I felt when we were checking in at Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Makati.
Holiday Inn is a 4-star category hotel but their lobby is as classy as it could get.The reception area is next to the lobby bar where one can comfortably wait while checking in.
Comfortable couches are scattered around the three areas that I mentioned as if inviting you to relax in them.Such is the mood that you get which is reflective of the warm hospitality of the staff.From the moment we checked in, a guest experience officer has made sure everything's smooth with our stay.
Beyond the Lobby Bar is Lobby Lounge with its posh appeal and high glass walls.I love the view from here.And the fact that it is at the 4th floor really felt different.You feel secure and comfortable.
Next to it is Flavors Restaurant, the main resto of the hotel where we had our complimentary breakfast buffet. I find their breakfast selection generous which I like so much and everything is tasty from the main dishes to their bread and desserts.Oh, except for their fresh mango that day which I find too sour as if it not ride in season. Other than that, everything else was delectable.

We stayed in a deluxe room facing Glorietta/ Ayala side.Clean,fresh,comfortable.Simplicity and modernity combined.
The bed was not as soft as I wished it would be but the pillows and the sheets made up for it.I also missed the bath tub but it would be too much to ask for a room that you can get for as low as $138 per night for 3pax inclusive of breakfast for two adults and one child. That's best value for money you get in this part of the town.

I on the other hand spent a few hours in the gym which is just next to the pool so I can still check on my wife and our daughter while they were swimming.
Most of the equipments in the gym are for cardio exercises.It would have been nice if they have barbels but it's not the case so I had to contend myself with dumbels for my cheast exercises.
The Sauna
For the weary traveler who could get a good massage, there's a spa section at the roofdeck too.
OZ BAR
I was back at the roofdeck late at night and I noticed that Oz bar was still open.I ordered San Mig light and stayed at one of the loungers by the poolside.Then it occurred to me that it must be nice to book the place for an exclusive party since you have the pool and the Oz Bar next to each other.Must be fun indeed.
I loooove the lobby and the fact that it is located at the 4th floor.You feel more exclusivity with this setup.And I love it that at the same floor are the lobby bar, the lobby lounge and of course Flavors Restaurant where kids 6 years and below get to eat free! Rooms exudes of modernity and comfort.
The Roofdeck is another section of interest.May it be swimming for the kids, workout at the gym for moms or drinking at Oz Bar for dads, the Roofdeck has it all covered.
Holiday Inn & Suites Makati truly is a family friendly hotel which merit a frequent return.

In our case, our daughter prefer the Roofdeck where the gym, the spa, oz bar and the swimming pool are located.She was at the pool most of the time, swimming at night despite the torrential rains and again after breakfast the next day.The POOL

And this is what you will also love about the hotel.It's literally next to Gloritta Shopping Center.A few steps from the ground floor entrance and you are inside Glorietta. And if the posh shops pf Glorietta are not enough, there's SM on one side and Landmark and Greenbelt on another.I call this congregation of four shopping malls the retail mecca of the Philippines and Holiday Inn Makati is next to it.

The hotel is approximately 30 minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, a 10-minute ride to nearby Bonifacio Global City & a short walk to the Makati Philippine Stock Exchange.
I haven't tried the HOLIDAY INN brand before and there seem to be limited photos online so I didn't set any expectations at all on this particular staycation.
