I silently cheered when I heard of The MIND MUSEUM even prior to its construction.More than one year after it officially opened to the public though, I haven't visited the place until two weeks ago.Shame! Still, better late than never. For those who haven't also had the chance to try it, here's what's inside undoubtedly the museum of all science museums in the Philippines.
The Mind Museum is the first world-class science museum in the Philippines. It is a P1 billion project built purely from private donations through the non-profit Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. It is dedicated to providing an extraordinary educational experience that promotes and inspires the public understanding of science.
At the ground floor are the four (4) Main Galleries ---Universe, Earth, Life and Atom---the Special Exhibition hall where the Da Venci the Genius Exhibit is ongoing until Nov.30, and the Mind Museum Store.
This giant replica of a T-Rex sure is the central element of the "Earth Gallery". In my knowledge, you can never find any similar display elsewhere.Really nice. There are again a a few engaging displays here including one of my favorites being the simulator of a tornado or twister.Swipe your hand and you can see how a twister starts.Cool!
While adults especially university students might feel that many of the displays are rather too elementary, I am certain that many will still learn a thing or two. The museum is perfect for grade schools and high schoolers and I encourage teachers and schools to bring their students here to reinforce science learning. For parents, I highly suggest you bring your kids here and guide them through the galleries. A visit separate from tours means more time to stay on certain sections to educate your kids without the rush of moving from one section to another. A whole day pass is well worth it. In the case of me and my wife, we stayed for more than three hours including the tour of the exhibit for Da Vinci.
My praises for Bonifacio Art Foundation for putting up this amazing space. We need people like them who advance science in the absence of profit taking. Bless you guys!

UNIVERSE
This is where we spent most of our time specially the Universe Gallery where my wife asked me to explain some "space" concepts to her. Many of the exhibits are interactive and easy to use/understand but it is still helpful of course if there is also a guide who will further explain things.Such guides are available on guided tours.
In this gallery is the "space shell", a planetarium where one can watch certain presentation projected on a curved ceiling simulating real space view.It is relatively small compared to the one in Nido Science Discovery Center in MOA but chairs are really comfortable I even dozed off a few seconds while the presentation was ongoing. Toinks ****
We went through the tunnelcraft afterwards and we felt like time traveling with the other side being the earth gallery.Welcome back to earth and welcome to the time of dinosaurs!
EARTH
EARTH

LIFE
There is also a video room in this section but we opted not to watch anymore and moved to Life Gallery instead. Kids will surely love the illustrations on the parts and functions of cells among others.
ATOM
Being a chemistry major myself, this section is indeed a teacher's dream of how a chemistry lab should get visual. I imagine how easy and interesting it would be explain chemistry concepts with the exhibits in this gallery. I personally feel though that more displays could be in order to maximize the space in this section.

UPPER LEVEL
Walk up the "lightbridge"and be transported again into a different world. This leads to the upper level where displays are more on technology. Another continuous space of interesting and engaging activities.
