Nagsasa Cove, though not originally planned, was where we decided to set up tent and stay overnight. Four of our colleagues were never in the area before and so they cannot decide where the best place is to camp. My wife and I told them to see Nagsasa Cove first and decide later on, anyways, it's easy to go back to Anawangin should they like it more. But they loved Nagsasa Cove instantly so that's where we settled finally.
NAGSASA COVE Zambales
Nagsasa Cove, though farther from Pundaquit and in this case, our set-off point being San Miguel, is the larger cove compared to Anawangin. Water here is also peaceful because of the small opening leading to a large bay. The last time we were here, we camped on the left side facing mainland. This time, we were taken to the right side where most people were camped.
Noticeably, this portion is partitioned by fences signifying different families/owners control the area. Noticed many Aetas manning the place. They were in charge of collecting fees and overall management of the sections they are in charge of. Mga katiwala perhaps. Much has also improved in terms of basic amenities especially water, toilets and baths. Noticed a concrete structure housing three toilets on one side of the area.Maybe more on other sections. Entrance fe is 100 pesos per head and that includes unlimited use of water and facilities. No electricity yet (as usual) but they already have generators and you can already have your gadgets charged at a particular fee. There is no cellphone signal though. haha!
Huts and cottages are also in place for rent. The area we chose was already a little crowded so most of the huts were already rented out. We were next to a table though which they allowed us to use at no extra charge. This proved very helpful in preparing our dishes. We bought all the good we needed in the market in San Antonio before leaving mainland for the coves and we carried with us lots of fresh fish that we needed to cook. But that is no challenge at all because our boatmen were there to assist us.
Actually, they did most of the cooking. They were busy doing so before sunset while we were by the beach taking advantage of the "golden hour"to take those lovely Facebook profile pictures. We came back to our camp just before dark and the food was already cooked. Nice ^^
And if there is a song that would summarize the experience in that afternoon sun, it would be...
"We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun" ---ganyan ^^. Memories were again made in Nagsasa Cove.

Thanks to our friends Mitch, Mek and Rupert for spending another lovely summer with us. Cheers to Gelo, our newest travel buddy.

PS: Thanks to Mang Johny and his wife Ms Peachy for being so nice. Sumugo kami sa Zambales na tent lang ang dala, the rest of utensils we borrowed from them, at napaka-asikaso ng mga bangkero nya. And best of all, nakiligo pa kami sa bahay nila after the tour before returning to Manila. If you are a small group, ayan di mahirap pakiusapan ang mag-asawa. They go out of their way to assist you. Please don't be abusive nalang ha. ^^
