Lunch at #PaloAltoPalawan's Private Beach + Underground River Tour


I thought it's gonna be just another Puerto Princesa Underground River Tour. Don't blame me, the place is amazing but I have been here twice. The third time it thought it's gonna be too painful to take but this particular tour came with a twist, something I looked forward to --- lunch in a private beach--- instead of the usual one in Sabang. Thank you #PaloAlto !!!!

But first, here are some photos of the Underground River as it couldn't be missed. As I said, akala ko nakakasuka na, but we came early before the flood of tourists so we got to appreciate the cave tour more. The stillness when you feel like your boat is the only one navigating its dark corridors, with only the voice of your guide echoing in its chambers with the occasional pause interrupted by the sounds of bats hanging on the walls of the cave and the sonar chirping of "balinsasayaw", a local bird, which passes through as if surveying the area.

It was cooler than last time I was here. Perhaps because of the abundance of moisture coming from the water that falls the giant chamber of the cave, water that comes from the mountain above it. I still find it mysterious every time I imagine where the water on the river that flows to the sea nearby originates. Our paddle boat guide told us that the flow of water going to the sea that day was a bit stronger than usual.

To get to the underground river, one has to board a boat in Sabang. A few minutes later and you will find yourself at a beach leading to the mouth of the cave. Register and the guide will lead you to a wooden walkway through a small forest and on the other side take a paddle boat to the inside of the cave. On our way back, instead of the usual walk through the small forest, we followed the banks of the river which leads to the beach. This gave us a different view of the Underground River's mouth.

Our guide was very cooperative when we requested for this. The advantage of not going on a tour with a group of course. We had the boat all for ourselves too. And from there we moved to our next destination a few minutes away, the private beach where we were to have lunch!

To give you an idea as to where it is located it's Sabang >>>Underground River >>> Private Beach.This beach is in a cove so there is no other way to get here but by boat.  I think it was only around 10 minutes or so by boat from PPUG. The sea was calm so travel time was quick and easy.

The property is still undeveloped so there are no accommodations here yet. One day there will be but for now it is virgin and ready to be enjoyed at its most natural state. A few giant dangkalan trees provide shade against the scorching heat while coconut trees still dominate for authentic tropical feel. I noticed that the sand is not that white but good enough.

I immediately noticed the waves breaking far from the beach front which means the slope leading to the sea is shallow that waves get shattered far offshore. The think line of foamy, tinny waves making its way onshore is pleasant to watch and the small sound it creates is music to the ears.

In short, you don't have to be intimidated by the roar of the water, the beach is still safe for swimming even if you have with you kids.

Hearty Lunch
When we came, the team from Palo Alto has already set up a temporary tent and has already prepared the meal for us. Crab in green curry, adobong pusit, pinakbet, grilled tuna, liempo and fresh in-season fruits. Yum! All these delicious food amidst the beautiful backdrop --- clear water, white sand, blue skies and the purple mountain from afar. What a sight, sinu naman ang di gaganahan kung ganito set up for lunch?

We took the time and stuffed ourselves with the food while enjoying the view, the sound of the waves and the cool shade provided by dangkalan trees. The weather was perfect, the food was perfect. We were lucky and thankful.

We rested a bit after lunch and talked about how it was going so far with our stay in Puerto Princesa. We then found ourselves strolling by the beach. Tried to chase small crabs crawling around onshore with their small holes in the sand. I appreciate how clean the beach is, after all, the place is still virgin and is off limits to the public except for a few locals who reside nearby to look over the property.

A few minutes later, sunblock and tanning lotions applied, we were on the water chasing the waves. We had to go meters into the sea to catch the surf as it breaks into the shallow portion of the beach. It would have been nice if we had a surf board or something coz the swell is almost similar to that of Aurora in Luzon. Kakatuwa lang.

We also had some fun time on the shore as we wanted to get a little tan. Buti nalang me dala kaming tanning lotion.

I felt like I could a little more exposure when dark clouds started forming in the horizon. Our guide asked us if it is okay to cut our swimming short as it was wiser to leave before the thunderstorm hits. It started raining the moment we were boarding our pump boat. It would have been nicer if we could have stayed longer but we really a relaxing and fun time here. Not to mention the hearty lunch of course.

    effortless than ever. These can develop muscle strength as well as hand-eye coordination. We are clearly not saying that downloading
    games will be the absolute future of ALL video games purchases, but
    it will notably take a sizable share of retail sales from here on out.

    The mini games include the favorites like Link,

    One of my favorite free games online to play is called Bloons.
    Not every Ben 10 game is action packed with lots of fighting.
