We stayed in Cebu City for two nights and one night in Badian which is three hours South of the province. Our last night's accommodation was Best Western Plus Lex popularly known as Lex Cebu. It was a fitting culmination to an awesome Cebu weekend tour.
And since I took the habit of relating the hotels we tried in this particular trip to furniture, Lex Cebu reminds me of a well-kept old narra furniture, strong, steady, reassuring ----you know it has been around and you know it is gonna last a long time.
High Ceiling Lobby
The lobby is the envy of other hotels in its category. High ceiling, ample space for waiting guests and floor-to-ceiling glass walls which gives for a more spacious feel seeing the busy intersection outside. This high ceiling lobby plays a very big factor in your overall impression of a hotel. Space means breathing space for me, a more relaxed mind, a more calm mood and when you start your stay in that mindset, all else will be good.
We came all the way from Oslob Cebu prior to our stay here and the heavy traffic approaching Cebu City meant we were late for check in. I think it was already 9:00pm when we arrived and the hotel lobby was already quiet. We went straight to our rooms to get some rest.
The Best Western Plus Lex Cebu
boasts of 83 exquisitely-designed guestrooms and suites.
The rooms have this classic feel. You know that this hotel has been here for a while but it holds a dignity of being well subscribed yet well kept. The furnishing inside you know are expensive. Nice bathroom. 5-star hotel feel. Sophistication, details, comfort. All here. The cable tv I don't like so much though because it was not the clear it felt like watching over antenna tv. Also the elevator I find a bit unresponsive. Other than these very minor details I have no more issues. Free wifi access in room.
Infinity Pool
The pool at the rooftop is not to be missed. An elegant pool sits 10 stories up. Here, you will feel that you are on top of the world. I thought the concrete accent above the pool looks disturbing but in reality gives the poolside area a majestic feel. You feel more protected from the sun or any flying object since the area is not completely exposed.
The Deck
Also at the roof deck, here you find yourself in this ultra-hip spot to unwind right in the middle of city. Take pleasure to new heights and chill out with sunset cocktails while enjoying the view of the cityscape. There was a party the night of our stay so we were not able to take a dip but the view from here either night or day is quite a view.
Fitness Gym
A gym with a floor-to-ceiling walls adds dimension to this rooftop amenity. Whenever we go on staycation, I make it a point to take advantage of gym facilities because not all hotels have one. For me, it is a testament to a hotel's sincere concern to its guest as it means they also care for their customer's health. I noticed that the gym is a bit small but adequate enough. Unfortunately for me, we were so out of time to even manage to try it out.
KAI Restaurant
The restaurant, although a little constrained in space punches above its weight. A diverse mix of food offering all delectable. Refine creations of International cuisine indeed. Our stay at Lex was so brief we found ourselves waking up 7: 30 am the next day with our flight scheduled at 12:30 pm. That didn't stop us from having a hearty breakfast though. I think we spent more than an hour partaking at the wide selection for breakfast buffet they have at Kai. I particularly liked their salad, bistek tagalog and maki rolls. I think I consumed a lot of maki and didn't care if my stomach was already bloated leaving for the airport. And we were so entertained with eating we had to hurry back to our room later so as not to miss our flight.
Good Location
The hotel is located very near Fuente Osmeña which means it is smacked in a happening district, the more old district of Cebu City. If you are for modern pursuits, Ayala Business District is only a few minutes by cab. Also noticed many new stores and dining spots blocks away from Lex.

Great Value
For its good location, unbeatable service and hospitality, exquisitely-designed rooms, complete amenities, a lovely rooftop pool, and breakfast buffet you will crave for, Lex Cebu is a very good choice when staying in Cebu City. And believe it or not, all these you can get for as low as 2,500php. Great value for a hotel of this caliber.
I can only speak as far as my experience and our stay was brief but
we enjoyed Lex, my only wish is that we could have stayed longer. ^^
