Taiwan has always been in my bucket list. I was supposed to fly to Taipei December of 2014 but I had to cancel the trip due to personal reasons. I have been longing to experience Taiwan since so when I was invited for this event, I thought this is my chance to get a taste of Taiwan so as to know what to expect when I finally visit the country.
I am referring to the week-long exhibition from May 23-29 dubbed Wow! TAIWAN Select Pop-up Store in Glorietta 1 Makati.
15 Popular Taiwanese Brands are on display with freebies and demos so guests could get a taste of Taiwan's best.
The Pop-up store features delicacies, cosmetics, fashion, technology and modern household goods catering to the young and hip Filipino market. The store exudes party-like vibe that Filipino families will surely enjoy.
Josh Kang, the Director of the Global Marketing and Consulting Division of Marketing Research of Wow Taiwan Selects said "we are convinced about the strong market potential of the country, (Philippines) and that's why we decided on a store theme that grabs the attention of young Filipinos."
Featured beauty and skincare brands include Dr. Morita, a facial mask brand that has sold 30 Million pieces worldwide; Naruko, which makes natural skincare products; TS6, a globally famous probiotic brand for women's health; Hydron, the top Taiwanese contact lens brand; Dr. Formula, a body and beauty care line developed by a professional medical team; and City Color, a brand known for its affordable fashion cosmetic products.
As for lifestyle, the pop-up store introduced Filipino consumers to Sakura, one of the best brands in integrated kitchenware; KTV-Brio, the smart mobile product manufacturer; O'Ringo, a well-known handmade leather shoe brand in Taiwan and Kimo Footwear which adopts German design to Asian need to design comfortable shoes.
And there are of course the delectable treats and beverages from Taiwan which I was excited to try. These include Seven Seven, a chocolate snack brand that has sold 6.75 billion chocolates worldwide; Taiwan Beer, an authentic Taiwanese beer in classic and fruit flavors; Sweet Mountain, which offers updated versions of traditional cookies and jelly treats; Royal Family, a brand famous for its Japanese-style rice cake; and Yon Ho, a soy.milk brand that is popular internationally.
Being able to sample some of the products on display at Wow! Taiwan Selects Pop-up Store, I can personally attest to the quality and global appeal of Taiwanese brands. I noticed that their packaging are colorful and animated. I think it would be better for recall that some also have English labels like the chocolates and soya drink. I love Taiwan beer, both the classic and flavored ones. I tried some that were not too chilled but still enjoyed the smooth flavors of these. I can't wait to get myself to Taiwan soon. At least by now I already what to expect and what brands to look for. You too can take advantage of the week-long exhibit at Glorrieta 1.
The Wow! TAIWAN Selects Pop-up Store will be making next stops in Indonesia and Vietnam.
