A stay at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is best complimented with a visit to  Flow Spa at the 22nd level for the best relaxation one can have. The 22nd floor is my favorite floor as it is where the pool, the gym, locker room and sauna and Flow Spa are located. We were able to fully utilize the use of all these facilities with a relaxing Urban Escape massage for 90 minutes late at night. What a good way to end a long day. A perfect culmination to a wonderful staycation.

Space and Aesthetics

The reception area has a waiting area lit dimly so as to give an intimate and cozy feel. The one in charge of reception greeted us with big smile on her face. People here are consistently friendly and warm anywhere you go at the hotel.

Services Offered

When I say they offer a wide-range of services, I really mean it. Aside from massage and bodyworks like Flow Signature massage, hot and cold stone massage, hilot, which is Filipino massage, Hilot with Ventosa , shiatsu and seated massage, they offer Aromathersphy by Amu'in which is the Filipino word for "to soothe abd caress". There is also Sigla whichbus an energy-boosting massage with peppermint, lemon, lemongrass and May Chang essential oils.. Hulay on the other hand is a massage using a calming blend of lavender and ylang-ylang essential oils meant to release tension and relieve stress.

Facials by Algotherm

Specialist in cosmetics for more than 40 years, Algotherm is a marine based line from

France that utilizes seaweed extracts and other marine ingredients. Algotherm does not

conduct any animal testing and formulations are Paraben-free. Results are visible from

the first treatment. This includes anti-aging facial, soothing facial and balancing facial.

They also offer foot massage, foot spa and foot reflexology as well as body scrubs.

Couple's Rooms

There are only three (3) massage rooms in the spa. Two (2) couples and one (1) single. That means only 5 pax at a time. But if you think the place is small you are wrong. I saw the two couple's rooms prior to our massage and they were big, almost the size of the hotel room. The corridor and common areas that are well designed and decorated are also spacious. The place has class consistent to the 5-star hotel brand that is Marco Polo Manila.

The couple's room we had massage it is complete with closet and showers. There was a big sofa too. The other couple's room has bath tub so you can request for it if you want to take a bath before you have a massage. You already feel fresh and clean the moment you step in the room. I had a quick hot shower before the therapy. If you prefer having sauna first there is one at the common locker room adjacent to the spa which is accessible to all in-house guests as long as the pool is open.

We stayed in one of the couple's room and had 90 minutes Flow Spa Signature massage. I rarely had 90 minutes massage and I find it really better than only 60 minutes. With the latter there are instances when you feel "bitin". Our therapists were Sally and Joyce. The two were very polite and warm. They forgot to offer us water or anything to drink prior to the massage which I find very important as guests could feel thirsty in the middle of the massage as I did so I had to request for bottled water 30 minutes within the therapy.

Other than that we were both very satisfied with the massage. I would not say the best I had to date but overall it was one of the best. If it is any testament, my wife falling asleep just a few minutes after the start of the session, is a sigh that she was really relaxed. The ambiance of the room helped a lot. The interior itself was already relaxing. Quiet, peaceful. You forget all your worries and just have a pleasurable pampering. The oil also helped. I don't know what oil they used but the best massage oil I tried in my years of having massage in and out of the country --- non-sticky, smooth and it doesn't overhead through continuous rubbing. I was amazed at how my therapist kept stroking and my skin didn't feel getting battered by friction. Utmost relaxation and pampering. Indeed a fitting culmination to an amazing staycation at Marco Polo Manila.
